"Sinanigans" (Sinanigans)

After 3+ years of being raped (paywise), my boss calls me on and laid it out on me. Another trader was let go this morning. It's been a tumultuous few months as our newly hired head sales guy is bringing in his peeps. So many feelings right now- relief, anger, sadness, and fear. I've been looking for other jobs for a while now, but I guess it's time to get even more aggressive. Here's an Eagle E-Type for your troubles.

*Boss walks into his office and sees you doing your belt back up*
'What the hell are you doing?'
'Well, at least one thing in this office has come in contact with my balls, have fun.'
*Moonwalk out of there*
Good luck on the job hunt.

I lost my job today too, but I do contract work, so I'll likely get something in 1-3 weeks. I got fired from a primo law job once because the new manager wanted his own people in. That was 10 years ago, and I still hold a grudge. If I ever get a chance, I shall take my revenge on that asshole.
Keep us informed, and good luck.

Definitely have my sympathy. My job search is going well, but these things move at an unbelievably slow pace. Good luck!

Is the butcher shop intentional or just a very appropriate coincidence? Sorry about the job loss and good luck with the search for a new one.

That sucks dude. It's tough out there. There's just so much talent. If you wanna meet up, let me know. I was working in midtown, and live in Wayne nj.

Yeah it's rough. Honestly, I can only see myself working for someone for a few more years. I really wanna start my own gig. I worked long hours for other people, I should do it for me.

I was an equities trader, but I was mostly doing research. It was a small brokerage house specialized in the frontier and emerging markets for institutional investors

I got squat... This place has an interesting philosophy on compensation. But actually many banks do these days.

Well, with that kind of experience you should probably find something pretty soon. Good luck!

I'm used to this - I've been doing the contract gig thing since 2006, and I've done better this year than any other. 2010 was the worst, as the effects of the Great Recession hit me. Next time you're in the city let me know - steve.reiness@gmail.com

I wish but between the proliferation of algo's, program trading, black box, etc and the plethora of talent, I'm afraid that's not gonna be the case. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that I will either land an advisory gig at a consulting firm (PwC, KPMG, Booz, EY, etc.), or find a finance gig in a corporation. I've been applying pretty aggressively since the beginning of this month, but now I'll be more aggressive... Fingers crossed.
